Playa Matapalo - Matapalo Beach
Playa Matapalo is a lonely beach in the gulf of Papagayo at only 35 minutes from the Liberia International Airport. It is a gray sandy beach and it is a 2 kilometers in long. Water in Playa Matapalo is safe, I mean no sharks or danger and it is clean; so, it is possible to swim anytime along the day or night.
Playa Matapalo is situated in the region of Guanacaste, northwest Costa Rica. This is a place to enjoy the possibilities offered by their surroundings: leisure and water activities, diving and fishing in Pacific waters and volcanic areas for ecotourism and wildlife sanctuaries. All this with a sophisticated tourist, exclusivity and fully integrated into a fragile and high value.
In Playa Matapalo was developed the Riu Guanacaste resort and was opened by October, 2008. It is the only building you can see from the beach; so, it is possible to walk up and down in this unspoiled beach and see nobody more than other clients from the resort.
There is no town in Playa Matapalo; however, it is possible to see some local people fishing from the beach or staying for a day enjoying the beach, but all of them will depart by sunset.
Here a few pics from Playa Matapalo and the Riu Guanacaste beach front, enjoy them...
